What's open and what's not on Labour Day

THE CITY OF SAULT STE. MARIE

************************ Labour Day operations

SAULT STE. MARIE - The following municipal facilities will be closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 5, 2011: 

- Cemetery Office

- Children’s Centres (Jessie Irving, Maycourt, Best Start – Holy Family site)

- Civic Centre

- Ermatinger∙Clergue National Historic Site

- Library (all branches)

- Seniors’ Centres (Drop-In and Steelton)

- Social Services (Ontario Works, Social Housing and Community Child Care)

- Essar Centre Office and Box Office

- Transit Office

Community Centres

- John Rhodes arenas are closed.

- McMeeken Centre is closed.

- Essar Centre arena is closed.   Marine Facilities

- Bellevue Marina is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

- Roberta Bondar Marina is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Marina will close for the season effective Tuesday, September 6.

Pools

- John Rhodes Community Centre Pool is closed for maintenance from September 3 to 14. Fall lesson registration starts Saturday, September 10 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

- Peter G. Manzo Pool and V.E. Greco Pool are closed for the season.   Refuse and recycling collection

No collection Monday, September 5.

Collection for the balance of the week will be one day late.

Refuse, recyclables, leaf and yard waste must be placed curbside by 7:30 a.m. to ensure pickup. 

The landfill site will be closed on Monday, September 5.

Regular hours will resume Tuesday, September 6. 

The site will be open Saturday, September 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Transit Services

There will be no regular transit or Parabus service on Monday, September 5.

Parabus bookings for Saturday, September 3 to Tuesday, September 6 must have been made by noon on Friday, September 2.

Regular transit and Parabus services will resume on Tuesday, September 6.
